Why Thyme?

  • It’s an herb that is high in vitamin C along with vitamin A and manganese. It has many flavonoids, which are said to increase antioxidant capacity and have anti-inflammatory effects.

  • The herb is shown to boost one's mood and, as an essential oil, is shown to boost one's feeling of well-being.

  • The herb is known for its antibacterial properties, as well as reducing high blood pressure and lowering cholesterol.

  • Thyme has a wonderful flavor, and is used in cuisines around the world, especially in France, Italy, and the Mediterranean.

  • Thyme tea and thyme water are easy to assemble. They take a minimum amount of time and ingredients to prepare. These drinks can be enjoyed throughout the day and stimulate memory, soothe a cough, and have a tonic effect on the entire nervous system.

Thyme Infused Water

  • 2 quarts water

  • 2-4 sprigs of thyme

Allow to sit overnight in or out of the refrigerator. If adding additional ingredients refrigerate overnight.

Optional: You may add sliced cucumbers, lemons, strawberries, or oranges.

Will last up to 3 days in the refrigerator.

Thyme Infused Tea

  • 3 cups water

  • 8-10 thin, tender sprigs of thyme

Bring water to a boil. Steep thyme at least 10 minutes. Strain before serving.

Optional:  Stir in honey and a squeeze of lemon.

Will last up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
